It is a strange happiness to really grasp the differences between the words prediction and anticipation. That there is a difference at all.

When I sought to understand the difference I anticipated this joy but could not predict it.

Prediction assumes that everything knowable is known and failure is a matter of chance between known possible outcomes. However to have a false prediction is to lose in some way because you positioned yourself as if the prediction were true.

Anticipation is stepping ahead knowing that you are about to get lost. There is no bad anticipation only making the most of the unknown that arrives on the horizon.
