Not liking any friction to posting is the whole reason I built the custom setup. I now automatically post to bluesky and mastodon… I even have a copy to clipboard button but the effort it takes to open this site and post is too much, so I’ve just not been posting here. If they had an API I would.

On the exhilarated feeling: I think that’s from impending likes and engagement as opposed to the posting. I’ve noticed that without that feedback loop my posts have become much more varied. For example I used to very rarely share links here but on my own site I bookmark with abandon.

Leaving aside the trapped by the platform thing, your own website just gives you so much more freedom to do whatever you want. I don’t understand why we ever en-siloed ourselves.
